Independent measurement for agent-payment infrastructure.
Settle is an independent, protocol-level conformance and measurement lab for the x402 agent-payment protocol. We run funded, single-defect probes against facilitator implementations we deploy ourselves on public testnets — or, with written authorization, against a subject's own staging — and we anchor every claim to a hash-committed artifact before we publish it.
artifact → ledger anchor → OpenTimestamps proof → Bitcoin block. Verify any of it yourself: how to verify.
What we do
- Conformance assessments of individual x402 facilitator implementations, per pinned version, on public testnets — reproducible from on-chain evidence.
- Continuous passive observation of x402 settlement activity — on Base today, with further chains under a published scoring method.
- Pre-registered predictions (from assessment 002), locked and hash-anchored before we probe a subject — confirmations and refutations are both reported.
- Coordinated disclosure to maintainers under a published policy, with dated public windows.
Current record
Faremeter v0.22.0 — self-hosted, Base Sepolia
First method demonstration. A controlled duplicate-settlement race came back negative; EIP-3009 nonce enforcement held in every round. One low-severity robustness note on failure signalling. Every material claim resolves to a transaction hash or a re-executable contract call.
x402-rs facilitator — pre-registration anchored
Predictions locked and signed on 17 September 2026, before any probe ran against the subject. Execution follows the pre-registered plan, whose hash is anchored; the plan is published with the report. The report will cite each prediction as confirmed, refuted, or partial, with evidence pointers.
Where everything lives
- settle-hub — assessments, policies, method, code.
- settle-ledger — the append-only anchor record, with OpenTimestamps Bitcoin proofs.
- How to verify — walk a claim from a SHA-256 row to a Bitcoin block, by hand.
